Prague – One of the world’s most prominent global-warming doubters, Vaclav Klaus, was re-elected Czech president Friday as a majority of 141 from 279 lawmakers present voted for him. A Eurosceptic veteran of Czech politics, Klaus, 66, is to hold office for the next five years, including during the Czech Republic’s presidency over the European Union in the first half of 2009. Klaus defeated Czech-US economics professor Jan Svejnar, 55, who earned 111 votes in the third ballot of the second presidential election.
